Navajo Catholics in the U.S. Southwest are expressing upset over a decision by the local Franciscan province to transfer administration of an historic mission founded some 125 years ago by St. Katharine Drexel.
“I felt [St. Katharine Drexel’s] approval, as if she were saying, ‘Yes, help my little ones,’” said Sister Thomas Aquinas, incoming president of Sacred Heart.
