I received my Pfizer vaccination at the Italian Cultural Centre. I was considerably impressed with the friendliness, professionalism, and efficiency of inoculating over 1,000 people that day. There was a wonderful atmosphere of community and it was great to see numerous Rogers Arena employees working the administrative details proudly in their Vancouver Canucks shirts.
There is so much negative feedback circulating about the rollout that I want to express how I view it so differently. I am in awe of what has occurred in our country, province, and city (particularly in the last few months) in terms of the scope of communicating and managing COVID-19 in a free society filled with freethinking individuals. ....

Community voices wanted to advise on health services


Gail Munro is the chairwoman of the MidCentral District Health Board s consumer council.
Community-minded people from a variety of backgrounds are being invited to help shape health services in the MidCentral Health district.
The council provides advice to the district health board on how to develop, design and deliver health care services that put people at the centre.
Chairwoman Gail Munro, who has experience in community development and governance, said the council needed new members interested in health to represent their communities.
In particular, the council wanted to capture the concerns of Māori, Pasifika people, youth and the elderly, the LGBTQ community, rural and disabled people. ....

The MidCentral DHB Consumer Council is recruiting new
members as it continues to advocate for the involvement of
MidCentral communities in the development, design and
delivery of services.
Individuals with proven
leadership skills and a passion for the health of our
communities are encouraged to apply.
Established in
2017, the council works in partnership with the DHB as an
advisory body providing a collective perspective of those
who use services, into health services planning, delivery
and evaluation at all levels of the organisation.
