FEMA coming to NWA, Crawford Co. To Tour Storm Damage

FEMA is expected to be in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley this week to assess the damage from last month’s severe flooding.With last month’s flooding still fresh in our minds, it’s still easy to see the scars left behind from all that flooding. But there is help on the way for the county and its residents, officials with the federal emergency management agency are expected to tour some of the hardest hit areas of Benton County in the coming days. The county is making progress with some repairs including along Logan Road in the Southern portion of the county near the Washington County line. But others remain, including a bridge that carries Gaiche Road over Lick Branch Creek. And that bridge isn’t the only thing damaged by the creek. Southeast of Highfill is the Patrick family farm.They’ve got about 200 acres and some of those acres border Lick Branch Creek where tons of sediment was deposited by the creek when the flooding happened a few weeks ago.The bridg ....

Benton County roads impassable due to flooding

Several Benton Co. roads washed out, crews rescue horses from flooded ranch
The Benton County Sheriff s Office has released a list of roads currently impacted by the torrential downpour.

BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. Some roads in Benton County are starting to open back up after being closed Wednesday (April 28) because of flooding. At one point, more than 30 Benton County roads were closed.
The following roadways are currently impacted by high water:
East Gaiche Road - closed indefinitely until repairs can be made
North Old Wire Road - bridge at Sugar Creek Road intersection (in Avoca) closed indefinitely until repairs can be made ....
