frankly, i don t think the president is that respected. ahead of the g8 summit this week, russian officials are speaking out today, saying any attempt to enforce a no fly zone would violate international law. gregg, back to you. elizabeth prann reporting in washington. thanks. the recent talks about the nsa surveillance program, lifting the curtain on a very secretive secret world that exists and showing the government s incredible power to know what you re doing happens almost every day. so how far do your privacy rights extend? susan estridge joins us. investigators looking into the irs targeting scandal, well, they are just warming up. does the white house win or lose by cooperating in that probe? will be here to weigh in coming up. can you tell me some basics? can you tell me how many agents and investigators you ve assigned to the case? may be able to do that, but i have to get back to you. can you tell me who the lead

chemical weapons, that s a drop in the bucket compared to the slaughter that s been going on in syria. take a listen to mccain. with we ve determined that bashar assad has killed about 100-150 people with chemical weapons. how did he kill the other 93,000? it s just what the president did was he gave them a red line but gave them a green light to do everything else. reporter: now, the other factor in all of this is that in a couple of days the president will be heading to northern ireland for the g8 summit, sitting down with allies from britain, france, others who have been saying for days and weeks now that they had already come to the determination that bashar al assad had used chemical weapons, so there had been pressure to acknowledge what our allies had been saying, and we expect we may hear more early next week on all of this. jon: lots of decisions yet to be announced, obviously. ed henry at the white house, thank you. some context now on what we know about syria s chemi
this incremental, i don t know what we re doing but seems to fall far short of what the hawks are doing. i agree with you. this is largely an arab problem. there is no strategic interest for the united states. yet the arabs are turning tail, jordanians, arabs, turks, don t look at us, you guys take care of i the problem here is as odious a regime as the assad regime is. i make no apologies for this regime. assad is a killer and brutal dictator. if there is a vacuum, there at will be filled by the is islamists on the other side. if that takes over we will have a regime far worse both for the united states and israel than the assad regime is. the president, according to politico, has been agonizing with the decision and will discuss it with the allies at the g8 next week.
