Countries, targeting the development of treatments and vaccines. You heard it here first, back in april, when senator tom cotton joined me on sunday morning futures. You believe that they are stealing intellectual property right now as we speak. I have little doubt that the Chinese Intelligence Services are actively trying to steal americas intellectual property as it relates to the virus that they unleashed on the world. Maria and now we have the of usual word. Breaking the official word. The u. S. Ordered china to close the consolate in houston as reports come in of documents being burned on the site. We have the late echt. Markets looking at a lower opening for the broader averages, futures indicating a decline at the start of trading, 88 points lower on the dow, nasdaq lower 17, s p 500 lower by 10 and a three quarters. [inaudible conversations] on the moderator. I dont mind you not listening to me. I used to be city editor of the Los Angeles Times and no one listened to me then, so i got used to it. After retiring from the times i wrote began writing for a number of web based evocations. I write mostly for one called truth dig, edited by the famous journalist Robert Scheer and depending on your political views, you will really love or hate this very progressive website. I also write for the Jewish Journal of los angeles and la observed a couple of others. Our subject is women behind the power and our panelists have written about how these famous men, three of them, how they were shaped or influenced by women. One of the women was one of the most famous people in the world intraday, Eleanor Roosevelt. Another was joan kroc, wife of the mcdonald mogul. She was as famous, but also dominant figure. Showed only 142,000 jobs created . The slowest month of the year . And about 80,000 fewer jobs created than many were expecting . Normally you expect stocks to get hurt, right . Didnt much of this markets next move higher come from additional job growth . You would also expect Interest Rates to plummet, as almost always happens when we have a real employment shortfall. As the dow gained, and the nasdaq advanced, and bonds . They did nothing at all. Whats going on here, people . I think a couple things are happening. First this monthly survey does have its flawing, meaning it frequently is revised, and august has the history of being the most wrong month. I think we have a revision upwards when we see the next figures. Second, i think people are hearing too much empirical evidence, and from surveying involves construction. Thats why one of the strongest sectors today was retail. Totally counterintuitive. Im not going to asterisk this number, but i have to be skeptical and conclude there
Areas rich gay pride history. The parade draws over 1 million people. But through the years the parade has meant a lot of Different Things to different people. Reporter gay and lesbian people would not have marched down the street the last 15 years ago. Nonetheless, wear costumes. Floats were sponsored by blue chip corporations and refreshments were pedaled by iconic american brand names, coke, pepsi, budweiser. Has the parade just become a big party. A commercialized event with nothing left to say. It was anything but widely accepted in 1972 when a band of gays, lesbians, hippies and anarchys marched down the street. And as their numbers grew so did their boldness. For the first time many felt safe in being publicly gay. Even flamboyantly gay. And according to susan striker, director of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, Transgender Society theyre too showy. Theyre too visible. They dont look like anybody else. And i think the extravagance of some gay pride parades is to say yeah so what. So
South carolina and like we can do across the entire country on tuesday and beyond, folk, win big or lose, thats the choice. Most americans dont want the promise of revolution. They want more than promises. They want results. The projected second place winner, senator Bernie Sanders is looking ahead to super tuesday and relying on his wins in the other early state confesses to drive his message. Now, i am very proud that in this campaign so far, we have won the popular vote in iowa, we have won the New Hampshire primary, we have the nevada caucus, but you cannot win them all. A lot of states out there, and tonight we did not win in South Carolina. [ audience booing ] and that will not be the only defeat. There are a lot of states in this country. Nobody wins them all. I want to congratulate joe biden on his victory tonight. And now we enter super tuesday in virginia. [ cheers and applause ] and tom steyer, who will not exceed the threshold in South Carolina which would have allotted him
