Meet Shenzhen's Next Landmark: A Futuristic Floating Tower


The design was unveiled as part of a competition held with the instructions to design a landmark tower in the region that has lately seen much urban and architectural growth and developments.
The questions asked were, What does a new ‘tower’ mean in the 21st century? and, How can a tower evolve while continuing to attract attention, as the Eiffel tower does? .
The New City Center Landmark competition made the decision this year to not award the first prize. Instead, they decided to position second place with the top rank. This prestigious award was awarded to Sou Fujimoto Architects for their forward-looking design.  ....
