But the fda said a name change would confuse the public and pose a health risk to those who suffer from fructose intolerance. and they say sugar should be grainy, not a syrup. no matter what they call it it s bad for you. that s the bottom line. speaking of sugar, here s a story getting a lot of buzz this morning. a proposed ban on the sale of those large sodas and other sugary drinks here in new york city. new york s mayor michael bloomberg is backing the ban as a way of combatting obesity. if it s enacted, the sale of any sweetened drink larger than 16 ounces would be prohibited in restaurants, theaters and other places as well. the beverage industry says the proposal, though, simply goes too far because, it says, soda is not driving obesity rates. come on. all these big gulp mm-hmm. that s how i roll! on this shift, i can t fault you for it. it s actually kind of good. what is it? coke and fruit punch. so anything of a certain size ....
