That is a high surf advisory and coastal flooding as well, water getting pushed onto the shoreline. not only coastal flooding, but freshwater flooding, too, as that rain pushes in, you will see areas highlighted in orange, about 4 to 6 inches of rain within two days time. remember, don t drive through flooded roadways, turn around, find the best outlet. that s the best advice i can give you. not only the flooding threat on the coastline, but the threat for severe weather across the plains today and tomorrow. areas highlighted in yellow, a little more vulnerable. so, watch that with wind and hail being our bigger concern, especially this afternoon and into the evening hours, once again, as we get that energy, that heat to ramp that up, and isolated tornadoes can t be ruled out either. let s take you across the ohio valley, the northeast, down into florida, over the next three days time. 70s for most of us, of course, orlando a bit warmer. but the opportunity for a few showers across new ....

That s going to keep that water at bay. however, where we have concerns now is going to be northeast florida, georgia and south carolina, where we have storm surge warnings in place still to come, especially throughout our day today and into friday. we could see one to three feet of storm surge from their island up to daytona beach. so on top of that freshwater flooding that we are anticipating in daytona beach, that is likely ongoing with a flash flood warning in volusia county right now, we are anticipating to see that flooding in our coastal communities. and i think what really could be a bit of a sneaky one for us , adam, is going to be our storm surge along the coast of georgia and south carolina, tybee island, savannah, charleston, floods and a normal thunderstorm. we re going to get rain and storm surge up to three to five feet in these low lying communities. and it could be quite devastating. yeah. jane moore is to me what a day it s been, what a storm it has been. and tracki ....

Some of the footage that has been showing up all across the state. there s naples on the left, fort myers on the right, and again, everything under water, right? the ocean is moved inland. we ve also got freshwater flooding from all of the rain that s been falling. again, that video there out of naples gets me every time i ve seen it three or four times already. look at that. that power line down and just and going nuts in the middle of the street. and that s why some two million plus customers are without power in florida. as of right now. that happening all across the state as ian continues to push further inland. it s still a hurricane as it made landfall early this afternoon right around 3:00 o clock. that was a category four storm strength. now we re at a category one , but it s still a hurricane, which is unbelievable. it s been cut off from its moisture source for going on a half of the day now. and it still has maintained that strength. look at that on the left ....

Couple of spots. generally speaking, here s the i four corridor connecting tampa up toward daytona beach. and again, in and along the corridor, we ve picked up anywhere between a good five to eight inches of rainfall. but notice that this darker coloring just south of tampa, st. pete area and just north of fort myers, that swath right here and especially that bull s eye area of pink that is indicative of estimated rainfall anywhere between 18 inches to 24 inches of rainfall. and again, that can lead to what we call freshwater flooding. so not necessarily due to storm surge. this is just everyday sort of rainfall. right. so watch out from venice over toward port charlotte. our friends in rotunda area. and again, north of that especially is where i think that we will continue to see ongoing flooding concerns not only through the remainder of your thursday, but perhaps even to friday. ....
