The Dubai Police arrested Moufide ‘Mouf’ Bouchibi, a French drug lord involved in drug trafficking and smuggling operations across Europe with an estimated annual street value of 70 million euros ($82.6m).
Bouchibi, 39, who became an international kingpin known as ‘The Ghost’, had been travelling under false identity. He had been on the run for 10 years using forged documents when Dubai Police arrested him.

A French drug lord known as the ghost who was on the run for a decade was arrested in Dubai after police armed with only a twenty-year-old picture of the suspect used artificial intelligence technology to track him down.
Dubai Police received a Red Notice from Interpol against Moufide ‘Mouf’ Bouchibi, 39, shortly before he recently arrived in the emirate.
He used forged identification in an effort to evade detection after landing in the city.
A team of officers were deployed and a criminal data analysis centre was set up to snare one of France s most wanted men.
He was captured last week.

Notorious French druglord Moufide ‘Mouf’ Bouchibi has been arrested in Dubai.
According to authorities, Bouchibi is responsible for drug trafficking and smuggling operations across Europe worth an estimated annual street value of AED 302 million.
The 39-year-old criminal known as ‘The Ghost’ has been on the run for 10 years using fake identities and forged documents.
For a decade, the global trafficker imported 60 tonnes of drugs to Europe every year.
Upon entering the UAE with fake documents, Dubai Police officers were able to use artificial intelligence to match surveillance footage with an old photo of Bouchibi provided by French detectives.
