This castle that dates to the 12th century rises majestically from 210 acres of parkland in the southern part of France’s Lorraine region, not far from the historic village of Domrémy and the surrounding grasslands where Joan of Arc grazed her sheep.
It has remained in the hands of just three families since it was originally constructed and then extended and redesigned in the 13th, 14th, 16th, 18th and 19th centuries, according to the Paris-based Patrice Besse real estate agency, which has the listing and describes it as “without doubt one of the most beautiful castles in all of eastern France.”
