St. Michael's Church: A community hub of prayer set in the heart of Enniskillen


ST. MICHAEL’S Church is a very prominent building in Enniskillen for many reasons. Architecturally speaking, its spire is a stunning sight as it stands tall in the townscape.
However, accompanied by the spire of neighbouring St. Macartin’s Cathedral, its visual impact is even more striking.
The two spires standing together is almost a metaphor for the close neighbourly relationship the two churches – one Roman Catholic, one Protestant – that have been nurtured through the years against the backdrop of what is often perceived as a divided nation.
St. Michael’s Church was built in 1875 and although the spire and belfry were on the original building plans for the church, they were not erected until 1992, more than 100 years later. ....

It is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen, it is a piece of architectural beauty. The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart is the fifth largest cathedral in all of North America. It is a Roman Catholic Church.

April and I took a trip this week to see the Cherry Blossom Festival and with the Cathedral just around the corner, we couldn t pass up a chance to see this breathtaking French Gothic Revival church ⛪ the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
Let s take a look at the history of the church, construction began in Newark in 1899, the church was completed in 1954. The Cathedral is tall...the towers are 232 feet tall. The Spire at Sacred Heart is 260 feet tall. ....

Cathedral of Our Lady, Antwerp
This Gothic building built between 1353 and 1533 replaced an earlier Romanesque church on the site. Its 405-feet-high (123 m) north tower was completed in 1518 and was intended to be accompanied by a second, which was never built further than the main roof level. Consecrated as a cathedral in 1559, it is a dominant landmark in Antwerp, while its interior, with its triple aisles, is typical of northern Gothic “hall church.” It is an unusually large church, though the Holy Roman emperor Charles V laid the foundation stone for an extension ....

Noon mass on Sunday, Dec. 20, at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, where there was plenty of room for in-person attendees to sit at a social distance. A Christmas Eve mass given by Archbishop Joseph Tobin at Sacred Heart will be remote only, livestreamed at midnight on the cathedral s Facebook page.

Christmas Eve services at the Presbyterian Church in Morristown will begin at noon on Dec. 24, and live eternally on YouTube.
