Leaders are hoping to break the deadlock over a post brexit trade deal with time running out to get an agreement through before the uk leaves eu trading rules on december 31st. Borisjohnson and the European Commission president ursula von der leyen are due to speak on the phone, shortly, to try and end the stalemate. But negotiators said significant divergences remained, following a week of intensive talks. Most of the deal has been completed, but key sticking points remain.
