Frank J. Flagella, 74, of Fredonia, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Brooks Memorial Hospital following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on March 1, 1946, in Dunkirk, N.Y., the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Ceranowicz) Flagella.
Frank was a graduate from Cassadaga High School in 1964 and The State University of New York at Canton in 1968. He joined the U.S. Army upon graduating from SUNY Canton in 1968 and received an honorable discharge in 1974. He was hired in 1975 to work for the Village of Fredonia Waste Water Treatment Plant in the maintenance department. Upon completion of his New York State Waste Water Operator Certification, Frank was promoted to the Chief Operator’s Position in 1985 where he remained until his retirement in 2009. ....
