1890, wyoming becomes a state and becomes wyomings first state penitentiary. You are standing in a building that held federal prisoners and also state and incarcerated prisoners as well. When visitors come to this, one of the interesting things they are going to notice as they walk up to the front door is it is massive. It had a huge dominance feeling to it. It was a very large stone structure. This building to liberally build the prison this way. Was built in the auburn prison Management System style. That meant the prison was built to where the convicts were put in solitary confinement at night. They were kept singly in a small cell. Then they would get up in the morning. That bell went off.
