Kate Liggett receiving the plaque for her grandfather, photojournalist George Silk. The plaques, which have now been installed, each bear a QR code linking to a detailed online biography. Two inductees, acclaimed agricultural scientist Dr Philip Rolston and world champion Black Sox Robert Tangaroa attended the unveiling. Rolston said it was an honour for the inductees to be recognised by their hometown. He felt humbled to be included among names everybody growing up in Horowhenua had heard of.
