And i can remember one of the most difficult things i had to do on april 20th is when i went down to the elementary school which was our reunification center and i was informed as there are fewer and fewer families and parents in that room, that i had to tell them there was a good chance that their loved ones died in the school that day. that was something i ll never forget. and just finding the words because i could not say i know what you re feeling, because i could not as i didn t lose a child. i told them i would continue to be with them the entire way. i went to visit all of the families on that weekend. and then on mother s day i went back and brought flowers to the moms who lost their children. it was very difficult. but one of the things that really helped me and fred alluded to it i think, is so important, is that mental health piece. i ve been in counseling for 23 years, and i wouldn t be able to do some of the work i ve done over the past 23 years. i can remember when i s ....
