LANSING - Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) Director Anita Fox are warning Michiganders about a GEICO insurance breach.
In a notice filed earlier this month, the company informed affected customers that, We recently determined that between January 21, 2021 and March 1, 2021, fraudsters used information about you - which they acquired elsewhere - to obtain unauthorized access to your driver s license number through the online sales system on our website. We have reason to believe that this information could be used to fraudulently apply for unemployment benefits in your name.

3:39 p.m. – A Glen Rock resident reported that when attempting to file his income taxes, he learned that someone had already fraudulently filed a return using his identity. The IRS has been notified and the matter is currently under investigation by federal authorities.

Nevada To Receive 164,150 Vaccines In December

Federal officials have allocated 164,150 vaccines to be distributed in Nevada this month. State officials plan to distribute the initial doses to frontline health care workers and nursing home residents and staff. More than 173,000 people are designated as part of the first distribution tier forcing the state to decide how to prioritize among health care workers. Officials said they plan to prioritize individuals in high risk environments and were still determining what each category entailed, including whether essential retail workers included casino employees that the state has said are key to economic recovery.
