The Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Council at Washington State were recently recognized as the 2021 Council Compass Highest Achievers and earned top awards given by the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values (AFLV).
The Interfraternity Council at Washington State, which oversees 25 fraternities, received the Jellison Award named for Dr. Bill Jellison and recognizes outstanding Interfraternity Councils in the nation. The Panhellenic Association at Washington State, consisting of 14 organizations, received the Sutherland Award named after Ms. Shelley Sutherland which is among the highest level of council achievements for Panhellenic Councils.
The Council Compass awards presented by the AFLV recognize the top performing councils across the country. To be recognized, a council must earn a combined highest achievement score in the four directional areas: accountability, collaboration, education and innovation.

Texas A&M International University’s Dr. Nicholas Hudson has been named the recipient of the 2021 Doris Michiko Ching Award for Excellence as a Student Affairs Professional.
The award, given by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, recognizes higher education professionals for their work in student affairs.
Since 2018, Hudson has served as director of the Office of Student Orientation, Leadership and Engagement. Throughout his tenure at the university, Hudson has re-established new and transfer student orientation, student leadership programs, spirit traditions, campus activities and sorority and fraternity life.
