The Farm Supply, in Pine River, is featuring a free pancake day Saturday, Dec. 17, and John Wilhoit, proprietor, extends an invitation to everyone to stop in on that date.
Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Shepard, Lyle Kruckow and Clifton King were riding out to their fish houses about 7:50 p.m. when the ice beneath their car started to crack. Mr. Shepard immediately turned the car and headed for the shore, getting within about 40 yards of it when the car settled through the ice. ....
