Ron Cabezon signs distribution with Gordon & MacPhail

Ron Cabezon signs distribution with Gordon & MacPhail 28th May, 2021 by Melita Kiely Botanical rum brand Ron Cabezon has signed a distribution deal with Gordon & MacPhail. Botanical rum Ron Cabezon launched in 2020 Launched in summer 2020, Ron Cabezon is a five-year-old gold rum, blended from liquid sourced from the Dominican Republic and Guyana. The rum from Guyana and the Dominican Republic is split into two batches, which are then put through two processes. This includes fruit maceration for a few weeks, the addition of Arabian cubebs, said to give a ‘slight smokiness’ to the final flavour, and the inclusion of West African kola nuts. The rum is finished with a touch of honey and Madagascan vanilla.

SNP sweep the board in three capital constituencies as Greens take two on list

Gordon MacDonald, right, Ben Macpherson, centre, and Ash Denham all won constituency seats in Edinburgh THEY may have fallen just short of a majority in the Scottish Parliament, but the SNP swept the boards in all three Edinburgh constituencies that were counted and declared yesterday. Ash Denham, Ben Macpherson and Gordon MacDonald comfortably held Edinburgh Eastern, Edinburgh Northern and Leith and Edinburgh Pentlands respectively. The SNP victories across the Lothians meant they gained no list MSPs for the region, but that meant three Conservatives, three Labour and two Scottish Greens were elected. In the last result to be declared, Scottish Greens co-leader Lorna Slater and her colleague, sitting MSP Alison Johnstone, were both elected on the Lothian regional list.

Oil and gas worker brings new north-east rum to the market

Oil and gas worker brings new north-east rum to the market © Supplied by Ron Cabezon Rum A Scottish oil and gas worker who hails from Aberdeen has launched his own rum brand which is made in the local area. Starting his business, Cabezon Beverage, during a global pandemic, David Smith says the idea for the rum brand first came around at the tail end of 2019 and was incorporated in December that year. Launched in October 2020 when the first products were bottled, David had been working away, perfecting his rum recipe and branding before unleashing the product to the masses. Originally from Aberdeen, the oil and gas professional who works ad hoc was inspired by his time living in Barcelona, Spain, from 2010 to 2015, to make his own rum after falling even more in love with the drink which is very popular in the European country.
