Our Politicians Must have Passed an Examination in Stupidity to obtain their Positions.
In 30 years, it will be much easier to say this, but this must be the stupidest era there has ever been in British politics. Oh, yes, some modern politicians can make classical allusions or dance nimbly about when interviewed.

But they do not really know anything, or understand anything. They live entirely in the present. They know little of other countries and less about the past. They idolise Winston Churchill but are in fact ignorant about him or his era, and the huge price in power and wealth which he rightly paid for our survival in 1940. Worse still, they think they are clever.  ....

Worse still, they think they are clever. This has something to do with the way we pick our leaders. ....

'The Undoing' review: A not half-bad introspection of class

Express News Service
Hugh Grant is an inspired casting choice for the role of Jonathan Fraser in the HBO mini-series The Undoing (streaming on Hotstar). Grant occupies that cusp in an older male actor’s life where there is palpable sadness at the number of years next to his name, the audience (of a certain age, of course) have fond remembrance for his younger, heartthrob avatar while he continues to look and be such a charmer that to look past him would be a daring act of neglect.
In The Undoing, he plays a paediatric oncologist with a little family in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the family too looking and being the part. His wife, Nicole Kidman’s Grace Fraser is a clinical psychologist and son Henry (Noah Jupe) goes to the best school the moneyed can buy. We meet Grace as a mother with an East Coast counterpart for Kidman’s club in Big Little Lies, the mothers organising a fundraiser auction for the private school. ....

Based on Jean Hanff Korelitz s 2014 novel You Should Have Known, this tale of betrayal written for television by David E. Kelley and directed by Susanne Bier follows successful New York therapist Grace Fraser (Nicole Kidman), whose life begins to unravel after her husband, pediatric oncologist Jonathan Fraser (Hugh Grant), is accused of murdering Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis), the mother of one of Jonathan s young cancer patients, Miguel (Edan Alexander), who happens to be a classmate of Jonathan and Grace s son, Henry (Noah Jupe). With Detective Joe Mendoza (Edgar Ramírez) in hot pursuit, and the other potential suspect Elena s mercurial husband, Fernando (Ismael Cruz Cordova) with an alibi, Jonathan s only hope is his astute attorney, Hailey Fitzgerald (Noma Dumezweni), hired under the largess of Grace s wealthy father, Franklin Reinhardt (Donald Sutherland), who doesn t think well of Jonathan. ....
