Months ago he announced he was battling stage four pancreatic cancer. This was a man who participated in the civil rights era. He was on the front lines of so many vital moments of our nations history. He was as kind as he was tough. A rare fixture in washington. This was a man who many people may have disliked his politics, but it will be hard to find a Single Person who did not like the man. Again, congressman john lewis of georgia has died. President Mateusz Salmassi, a third year psychology international student, cited budget cuts, tuition hikes, performance-based funding and healthier academic regulations as desired points of change in his platform. His platform points spoke to building issue-based FASA campaigns “designed to go beyond advocacy,” creating a VP Student Organizing role, expanding the Arts Undergraduate Research Symposium (AURS), collaborations and working with the Council of Alberta University Students (CAUS) and continuing to fight for “Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Justice” through various actions.
