Heavy rains at this time of year are not unusual but the sheer loss of life certainly is. More than 1,200 people are believed to have died. Relief agencies are struggling to help millions more made homeless. The monsoon rains are the heaviest south asias seen in decades. The bbcs Sanjoy Majumder has this report. Weeks after the worst flooding in decades, a third of bangladesh is still under water. Many villages in the northern part of the country are still cut off.
