NJ restaurants see increased indoor dining capacity as a big boost


Things are looking up for New Jersey s restaurants.
We are extremely happy, said Marilou Halvorsen, the outgoing president and CEO of the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association. It is certainly time to do this. It s in line with what other states are doing. We re excited.
Many restaurant owners are thrilled as well.
That s good news, said Simon Shargo, owner of Sushi Kai, a 25-seat omakase restaurant in Fort Lee that opened in the fall. I m happy we re moving forward. It s a good opportunity for restaurants to get on their feet.   
With the previous 25% restriction, Kai could accommodate only up to seven diners at each of its three nightly seatings. It does not offer outdoor dining. ....
