WORCESTER – A Lancaster man authorities allege stole nearly $30,000 from eight banks over three months last winter pleaded guilty to three of the holdups in federal court Friday.
Matthew Alden Jr., 26, of 89 Narrow Lane, pleaded guilty to three counts of bank robbery in U.S. District Court in Worcester.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lucy Sun said Friday that Alden was found with a notebook that contained the locations and closing times of local banks at the time of his arrest.
She said authorities also found pictures of a wad of cash in a gloved black hand on Alden’s phone, as well as money stained with red dye inside his home.  ....
