For some it s a one-of-a-kind event passing over southeastern Oklahoma. The Great American Solar Eclipse s path of totality and peak passed over the Sooner State on Monday.
FOX23 crews were spread out across Oklahoma and Arkansas to view the event and report on it. The pictures in this story were taken in Heavener, Oklahoma.
The partial eclipse started shortly after 12:35 p.m., and the moon slowly moved its way across the sun. The moon caused less and less of the sun to be visible, creating a crescent sun over Oklahoma until the eclipse hit its peak around 1:45 p.m.
