In-person high school testing to start next week


In adherence with state testing requirements, the Lee County school district is preparing to hold in-person testing next week for high school students.
Each year, high school students must complete end-of-course tests which account for 20% of their final grade. Exams were waived last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but the requirement remains in place this year despite many school buildings, including in Lee County, still being close due to the pandemic.
Tests are required in 12 courses: four core classes — Biology, English II, Math I and Math II; and eight career and technical classes — Accounting I, Apparel I, Child Development, Food and Nutrition I, Foundations of Health Science, Health Science I, Principles of Business and Finance, and Principles of Family and Human Services. ....
