DILG joins business groups in calling for passage of economic bills, Charter reforms

Malaya noted that the DILG joined the call to the Senate and the House of Representatives of five respected business groups that collectively expressed their strong support for the initiatives of the Duterte administration to open the Philippine economy as a means for economic recovery and sustainability. “The affirmation given by these business groups shows that government policies are on the right track and those business leaders are willing to work hand in hand with the administration for economic recovery and sustainability,” Malaya said.  The business groups include the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc., the Foundation for Economic Freedom, Inc., the Management Association of the Philippines, the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association, Inc., and the UP School of Economics Alumni Association.

DILG Spokesperson and Undersecretary Jonathan E. Malaya said they join the call to the Senate and the House of Representatives of five (5) respected business groups who collectively expressed their strong support for the initiatives of the Duterte administration to open the Philippine economy as a means for economic recovery and sustainability.

Groups warn of lost opportunities amid COVID-19 February 19, 2021 | 12:31 am Reporter PHILIPPINE business groups on Thursday urged the government to further ease lockdowns to fast-track economic recovery amid a coronavirus pandemic. In a statement, several chambers and industry groups said the qurantines should be limited to areas with rising infections. “Delaying any further could result in lost opportunities and see us again lagging behind our neighbors in our quest for economic recovery and sustainability,” they said.
