Roy Stefak - Obituary - Thunder Bay - TBNewsWatch com

With sadness Roy’s family announce his peaceful passing on April 24, 2021 after many years of health concerns. He was born September 24, 1934 in Bifrost, Manitoba then moved to Port Arthur now Thunder Bay at an early age with his mother Rose. They settled on Water Street where he was able to watch and keep up with city events and growth. His early schooling began at Central School therefore he was pleased to see it preserved to become part of Magnus Theatre. His interest in sports started with basketball at Port Arthur Tech. As an adult he was involved with 5 pin bowling winning many trophies. In later years he turned to curling where he also excelled. On several occasions he had the pleasure of being host driver for teams participating in bonspiels held locally.

John Jack Burns

Jack was born and raised in Frontier, Saskatchewan. As a young man, Jack joined the CPR as a policeman and he ended up stationed in Fort William where he met Shirley Steele. They were married and spent the next 63 years together, until Shirley’s passing in 2018. Jack was transferred to Schreiber where they spent the first few years of their marriage. They returned to Fort William after Jack started with Fort William Telephone, (now TBaytel). Jack worked there in various roles until his retirement. After retiring, Jack worked part time every spring as the McKenzie Seed distributor for many years.
