A former U.S. Army sergeant will spend the rest of his life behind bars for stabbing a fellow soldier to death at Georgia's Fort Stewart in retaliation for him reporting that he smoked marijuana.
A former U.S. Army soldier who pleaded guilty to the 2020 killing of another soldier in retaliation for the victim's reporting of his marijuana has been sentenced to life in prison.
Byron Booker, 29, from Ludwici, Georgia, pleaded guilty to the premediated murder of Specialist Austin J. Hawk, 21, at his Fort Stewart Military Reservation barracks on June 17, 2020.
