Of my favorite civil war generals, who turned out to be not from one of those northeastern states. Patrick clayburn from argue arg arkansas. I got interested in the battle of ringgold gap. I want to start with clayburn saves the army. We have to start with the two leading protagonists at the battle of Missionary Ridge. Grant was a rising star as a general. Had not lost really a battle yet during the war. Eventually, he goes on to further greatness. On the other side, you have bragg. Purpose. I went to a friend of mine and asked if he would consider running for mayor because i personally didnt think a black person had any prayer of being elected mayor of chapel hill. He didnt want to do that and couldnt persuade me to do it and he went to the local newspaper and told them that he had a scoop which is that i planned to run for mayor and the newspaper without checking printed that story as a front page headline and that of course split the chapel hill community. Following that i had pressure on both sides. From one group thinking it was the most exciting thing since winning the ncaa championship and the others thinking it is the dumbest thing anybody could think of doing and the black community was concerned it would do nothing but exacerbate the race problem in chapel hill which had been ugly through the years. I only with ran finally because one person who said to me you shouldnt run for mayor because the time is not right. I had been hearing that all my life as a ....
