I was recently idly wondering whether we d ever see another true WipEout again when I decided to download the Omega Collection via backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5. This loving compilation of Studio Liverpool s last three entries in one of PlayStation s most iconic series might be showing its age - you can trace the roots here back to the series PSP outings, and at times they certainly show - but that doesn t stop it from being as sublime to play today as it s ever been, especially in all the Omega Collection s 4K/60fps glory. It s pretty much as good as futuristic racers get.
Wipeout-Style Anti-Gravity Racer Pacer Is Now Available On Xbox
The Wipeout spiritual successor comes to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Pacer is a futuristic, high-speed racing game that ll be immediately familiar to fans of the classic 90 s Wipeout series. After launching on PS4 and PC late last year, the game is now available to play on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The year is 2075. You re a fresh pilot on the starting grid, ready to take on any and all challengers to make a name for yourself and become the Pacer world champion, the official Xbox description reads. Normally priced at $40, Pacer is on sale at launch for $32 on the Xbox Store.
If you re familiar at all with the concept of parkour, it s likely you know the name Storror. The parkour team has over 6.88 million subscribers on YouTube, where they post travel vlogs, training videos, and challenges. The group also helped choreograph and perform parkour sequences for films such as Michael Bay s 6 Underground. On its channel, all seven members demonstrate their parkour skills, racing the tube, performing flips and tricks, and diving off tall objects. Recently, though, the team has tested itself in an entirely new way.
In early December, Storror announced plans to crowdfund its first ever video game, for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The project, named Storror Parkour Pro Video Game, quickly surpassed its modest funding goal, earning a total of £75,000 throughout its entire campaign.
