New Delhi [India], May 26 (ANI): Former Law Minister and senior Congress leader Ashwani Kumar on Wednesday said WhatsApp s challenge against the Centre s new intermediary guidelines in Delhi High Court is based on solid grounds .
WhatsApp s petition challenging the latest regulation of the government that impact the privacy of the communication is clearly based on solid grounds. As a student of the constitutional law, it is my considered view that any enforcement of law negatively impact or impinches upon the fundamental right of privacy would be held unconstitutional, Kumar told ANI. ....

Former law minister Abdul Matin Khasru has died in hospital care in Dhaka at the age of 71 while being treated for coronavirus infection.

Khasru, the newly elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, breathed his last on Wednesday afternoon at the Combined Military Hospital, said his nephew Taslim Khan.
He was put on life support on Tuesday morning after his admission on Mar 16.
Khasru was shifted to the ICU on Mar 28 when the sodium level in his blood dropped.
He was returned to the ward following an improvement of his health on Mar 31, only to put back in intensive care on Apr 6. ....

Ruhul Quddus Kazal, a pro-BNP lawyers’ leader, has been re-elected secretary of the association.
The White Panel, backed by pro-Awami League lawyers’ group Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad, ran away with eight positions in the 14-strong committee, taking back control of the SCBA.
The Blue Panel, supported by the pro-BNP lawyers’ organisation Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, secured the remaining six seats in the committee that has a one-year mandate.
