Published January 29, 2021 12:46pm The time is not yet ripe to conclude that the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 is effective in preventing terrorist attacks in the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Chief Minister Ahod Al Haj Murad Ebrahim said Friday. The Anti-Terrorism [Law], it is still early to judge whether it will really address [terrorism in the region] but on our side, we have assured the President that we will be helping the national government in implementing this anti-terrorist law, Ebrahim said in a Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines online conference. He said there are still small armed groups existing in BARMM but he assured the public that the Bangsamoro government is in talks with them, including the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters and the Abu Sayyaf Group.
