Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Miller says 36-year old John Michael Berry of Henderson had been traveling just north of the Crofton exit about 6 p.m. when his vehicle went into the median and overturned, ejected him from the automobile. London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Apr 5, 2021 10:07 AM Starting this week, Kentuckians age 18 and up will be eligible for the Moderna or Johnson and Johnson vaccine, and those as young as 16 years old can sign up for the Pfizer vaccine. Gov. Andy Beshear announced the expansion saying young people are ending up in the hospital. He said they believe this is because of the more aggressive variants. When Beshear originally announced expansion plans, the target date for expanding to younger populations was April 12. The earlier rollout still beats deadlines set by the Biden administration who said last week, 90 percent of Americans would have access to the shots by April 19. Dr. Ryan Stanton says he believes the eligibility will expand to young children by year’s end, citing a recent trial by Pfizer that studied the vaccine children as young as 12 years old. As previously reported, Hopkinsville police responded to 1504 College Street a few minutes before 1 a.m. April 3 and found 33-year old Anthony Johnson of Waddell Circle with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was transported by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel. The governor reported 409 new cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth from both Sunday and Monday, and says that last week broke the 12 week streak of declining cases, with overall reported cases up some. He says it is good news that the state is not showing any evidence of an escalation of cases. Many states are starting to see an increase in cases once again, and the governor says a new concerning trend shows that younger populations are being hit harder than before due to the coronavirus variants. ....
