With the delta variant of COVID-19 increasing and vaccinations stagnating, respondents of the Power Poll would be OK with health restrictions returning according to results released Thursday.
The Power Poll is a monthly survey sent to more than 425 influential business, political, nonprofit and cultural leaders in the Bluff City. The poll is presented by The Commercial Appeal and sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and DVL Seigenthaler - Finn Partners.

Tennessee highway officials report an inspection of the Interstate 40 bridge at Memphis found additional repairs may be needed, but the work should be finished in time to reopen the closed bridge late in July.
An update on the I-40 project released Friday afternoon said work crews have proceeded to strengthen the bridge since a crack in a steel support beam was discovered May 11. ....
