The Secretary of the resident association informed Bangalore Mirror that the issue has significantly affected senior citizens. “The footpath is becoming narrower by the day, leaving pedestrians no space to walk. Street vendors and two-wheelers have taken over the limited space,” she said.
The DCP assured residents that extra force would be deployed to cater to specific problems like there will be more traffic policemen on the ground on special days near temples and on weekends near malls and shops.
Commuters complain that the illegal market is causing traffic chaos. Vehicles stop abruptly next to the market, and people buy fruits and vegetables from these vendors.
