NEW ORLEANS The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a man for a man that went missing in Jefferson Parish, Tuesday.
According to the release Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call from Zito Fleeting at about 3 p.m., stating one of their barge workers fell overboard.
The worker, Elisander Alvardo, 44-years-old, had fallen near mile marker 105 near Jefferson Parish.
Watchstanders issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and launch search and rescue efforts.

NEW ORLEANS As of Wednesday (Jan. 27) night, the Coast Guard suspended its search for a missing person in the Lower Mississippi River near Jefferson Heights in Jefferson Parish.
Officials identified the missing person as 44-year-old Elisander Alvardo, and say Alvardo was last seen wearing coveralls and no life jacket.
Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call around 3 p.m. from Zito Fleeting reporting one of their barge workers had fallen overboard near mile marker 105 near Jefferson Parish.
