Food Not Bombs Volunteers Gather at People s Park To Support Houseless Residents

June 4, 2021 at 1:23 pm by Atmika Iyer and Holly Rusch Following the Isla Vista Recreation & Park District’s decision to transition People’s Park back to its recreational capacity — which would subsequently force houseless residents currently living there to leave the park — the non-profit, volunteer organization Food Not Bombs organized a community gathering around the encampment beginning June 1 to support the houseless residents.  Food not Bombs Isla Vista and community members gathered on June 1 at People’s Park. Food not Bombs was serving food at the event.
