Speaking about the sowing campaign, Nikolai Leshik remarked that the matter of sowing winter rapeseed is of current interest now. For the last three years winter rapeseed has been sown on an area of 400,000ha. This figure is optimal as far as the structure of the area under crops is concerned.
“Belarusian agricultural workers have threshed 9,011 million tonnes of grain including rapeseed. This is 1.5 million up from the same period last year. The average yield across the country is also higher than the previous year's figures,” head of the crop farming department of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry Nikolai Leshik said.

Nikolai Leshik said: “Everything has been done this year in order to produce at least 8.7 million tonnes of cereals. A large area has been allocated for sowing cereal crops – about 2.5 million hectares. According to experts, this year's harvest in Belarus should be roughly 1.5 million tonnes larger than last year's.”
