New York Times Sells Biden's 'Short Fuse,' Outbursts of Profanity as a Socratic 'Journey'

News - The Paternalist Instincts of a Central Planner

What really may be behind such a “wanting” for political office is never stated directly or openly.
Both supporters and critics of President Joe Biden have been surprised and amazed by the immensity of his political agenda and his recent actions for a far more expansive role for the federal government than many had been expecting from his time in office. He is clearly on a “mission” and is pursuing it with seeming urgency. So, what is driving him, and is this what the task of presidents is supposed to be all about?
New York Times columnist, David Brooks, recently did a lengthy phone interview with Biden and conveyed his understanding and impressions of what guides the president in pushing for a larger and more intrusive government in people’s lives. Whenever a politician tries to tell you what drives him in pursuing government office and his motivations for wanting political power and authority, it must always be taken with a grain of salt.  ....

Opinion | Biden's Measured Approach Is a Relief - The New York Times

To the Editor:
I was elated to read that President Biden thinks deeply and long about important decisions. It is such a relief to hear this, especially after the last occupant ignorantly made false statements and undertook rash actions (like withdrawing from the Paris climate accord) without having any grasp of the details of the situation or the consequences of his actions.
One can only hope that Mr. Biden’s thorough deliberations can undo the mess of the last four years.

Venmo accounts for Joe Biden and Dr Jill Biden were removed on Friday after BuzzFeed News said it easily found the US president on the payment app – a discovery it said raised national security questions.
The website went looking for Biden’s account after it was mentioned in a New York Times report on White House conditions and working practices.

In the Trump years, reporters loved quoting anonymous White House sources on Donald Trump losing his temper. Now, a version of that story on Biden’s “short fuse,” complete with yelling often at aides with profanity has emerged in Saturday’s
New York Times…but they try to sell it as a positive.
In the paper, the headline is
“Beneath Folksy Demeanor, a Deliberative Biden.” Online, it’s slightly more informative:
“Beneath Joe Biden’s Folksy Demeanor, a Short Fuse and an Obsession With Details.”
Reporters Michael Shear, Katie Rogers and Annie Karni paint “a portrait of a president with a short fuse, who is obsessed with getting the details right sometimes to a fault, including when he angered allies and adversaries alike by repeatedly delaying a decision on whether to allow more refugees into the United States.” ....
