A new year with both old and new problems, not least; the mayhem ensuing over replacing the late Pat Culhane on Belleville council.
Not that I’m catching local radio shows lately, Greg Schatzmann’s holiday cheer on CJLX 91 FM Loyalist College excepted. And I’d hoped to keep my head down as I seek counselling; months stuck in shock and awful, healthcare inaccessible after identifying bona fide travel and communication issues due to disability, requests for accommodation and local support… not materializing – hardly a unique struggle for vulnerable persons thwarted by attitudinal barriers. Imagine breaking into tears following traumas and asking for support while thanking the doctor for referral and then… nothing. Yes, tough gals cry; tender being our most human side. But, with Pat’s prior encouragements and the promise of private guidance, I’ll wade in. ....
