Florida State Extends Hamilton’s Contract
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) Florida State University Vice President and Director of Athletics David Coburn announced today that Florida State has extended the contract with head basketball coach Leonard Hamilton through the 2024-25 season.
“Coach Hamilton has done so much for this basketball program and this university that it is hard to express in words,” said Coburn.  “What he does with his young men, both on and off the court, is truly remarkable.  I know both the President and I regard him as a university treasure, and he is just now getting the national recognition he has deserved for so long.  He embodies all the qualities that make a great leader, and we are proud and thrilled to have him as our coach as long as he wishes.” ....

Gary K. Ostrander is stepping down as Vice President for Research to spend the next phase of his career focused on his own research.
A Christmas gift can have a lasting impact.
For Gary K. Ostrander, it was a GI Joe scuba diver he received when he was about 8.
“I became enamored with scuba diving and going under water, and then I saw Jacques Cousteau and I said ‘OK, you have diving, and you have science,’” said Ostrander, an accomplished biologist and the Florida State University Vice President for Research. “And I’ve never wavered from that. I just find the whole underwater world a fascinating place, and there’s so much we don’t know about it.”  ....
