Okker will take over as the school is in the midst of a struggling growth campaign, with enrollment falling from 861 students when the plan began in 2016 to 714 students this year.
However, applications increased by 10% last fall, according to minutes from a February enrollment update and Okker is confident that the school has turned a corner. 
“I’m very optimistic about the growth plans that New College has already put into place, and they are already seeing returns on that,” Okker said in a phone interview on Wednesday. “They are already on track for growing enrollment, and I’m happy to lean into that.” ....
