A brush fire had burned more than 1,000 acres. More than three-fourths of a 1,200-acre fire in north Collier County remained active Sunday morning with firefighters from two counties working to further contain flames that destroyed one home and damaged others. Early Sunday morning the Florida Forest Service Caloosahatchee Center was reporting the fire was about 20 percent contained. The fire began near Desoto Boulevard South and 14th Avenue Southeast.
