Speeding motorist kills woman in Onitsha lone accident

Share The driver of a Foton Auwan trailer with registration number, KTU 477 XW, while speeding, ran over a yet-to-be-identified female pedestrian crossing the road and crushed her to death in Onitsha, Anambra State, on Saturday. Eyewitnesses disclosed that the crash was caused by excessive speeding and loss of control by the driver of the articulated vehicle. Florence Edor, Public Education Officer for the Anambra State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who confirmed the accident in a statement, said, two persons were involved in the crash comprising one male adult and one female adult. She said the female adult was rushed to Toronto Hospital, Onitsha by the FRSC rescue team from Upper Iweka Outpost and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

Motorcyclist killed in Anambra road accident

Share A fatal traffic crash has claimed the life of a motorcycle rider at Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Monday. The crash was between an unidentified driver of a Nissan Caravan with registration number GDD 623 XA and an unidentified rider of a Kasea motorcycle without a registration number. It was reported by an eyewitness that the crash was caused by speeding and driving against traffic. SRC Florence Edor, Sector Public Education Officer of the Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, who confirmed the accident in a statement, said that the motorcycle rider with his passenger was riding against traffic when they were knocked down by the speeding Nissan driver.

FRSC intercepts human trafficker, rescues five girls in Anambra

Share Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has intercepted a suspected human trafficker and rescued five victims (girls) in the state. The arrest was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Awka, on Wednesday, by the State Sector Public Education Officer, Florence Edor. According to the statement, the Sector Head of Operations, Deputy Corps Commander Anthony O Ogbodo, who spoke on behalf of the Sector Commander Anambra State, said the suspect, a driver who identified himself as Frank Lucky, 36, was arrested along Onitsha-Awka Expressway in Anambra. According to her, the suspect was arrested by FRSC patrol team led by Route Commander Ugochukwu Ogbonna when he stopped a black Nissan Primera vehicle with registration number BEN468HP, for an offence of seat belt violation (SUV) and Obstruction of Marshal on duty (OMD).
