plastic waste processing: SIBUR processes plastic waste in partnership with Indian companies

SIBUR, Russia s largest plastics producer, partners with Indian businesses to recycle plastic waste. EcoPartners, co-founded by Gaurav Sood, opened Russia s largest plant for recycling plastic packaging waste last year. The plant, Total Cycle, in the Tver region, processes plastic waste into PET flakes. SIBUR supports the plant and purchases PET flakes to produce green PET granules for eco-friendly packaging. This initiative recycles up to 1.7 billion plastic bottles annually. Russia, like India, focuses on environmental protection, with Russia mandating recycling for plastic-packaging manufacturers and considering restrictions on difficult-to-recycle plastics.
