A Christmas campaign received 1,462 donations for the elderly that were spending Christmas alone last year. Home Instead Senior Care’s Christmas campaign, ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’, saw local organisations and charities pull out all the stops to make Christmas extra special for the elderly and families in need across the Wirral. Local organisations across the borough hosted Home Instead Christmas trees and gift tags where members of the public took a gift tag, bought the present, and brought it back to the venue for it to be donated to a person spending Christmas alone. Bev Favanger, Business Development Executive, at Home Instead said: “I am delighted that this year’s ‘Be A Santa to a Senior’ campaign has been such a huge success. It is a very rewarding campaign to be involved in.
