Laura âJeanâ Lancour FLAT ROCK, Mich. Laura “Jean” Lancour, age 85, of Flat Rock, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 1, 2021, at U.P. Health Systems of Marquette under Hospice care. Jean was born in Escanaba on November 26, 1935, the daughter of Herbert and Laura (Foster) Hoes. They moved around a lot so she is known by Laura in some of the areas but preferred to be called “Jean.” Jean’s family lived in Perkins, Schaffer and Wells. She always talked about how she wasn’t allowed to go to the top of the hill to play, so her brother (Wesley) would go and drag her back down the hill by her long braids. ....
