Ontario is marking another National Day of Mourning virtually this year, in honour of those who have died or been injured or suffered illness on the job.
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board says 245 Ontarians died last year from workplace-related injury or illness.
The COVID-19 pandemic, meantime, continues to reshape the way many of us look at workplace health and safety. This year it has become even more of a focus as we have lost now, last year in 2020, 27 people as a result of COVID, said Elizabeth Witmer, Chair of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
